From Reaction to Intention
Most roll the way they live; reacting emotionally in the moment, negating rather than progressing. Someone postures up, they panic and pull guard. Someone grips their sleeve, so they yank it back without asking why. There's no thread connecting one moment to the next, just a string of impulses stitched together.
Experience allows you to feel it in others; are they being deliberate, or are they just responding? A person without direction spends all their energy defending whatever position they happen to be in rather than using the position they're in to get to the one they actually want.
This is what separates the beginner from someone who's started to understand the game.
You evolve past just trying to survive, and into someone who wants a specific something. You have a destination in mind, and while the chaos persists, you’re not overwhelmed by it. Instead, it becomes the terrain you traverse to reach your goal.
The true transformation lies in shifting from a state of undirected reactions to gaining a clear sense of direction and determining whether your actions are leading you toward where you want to be.
